Fiera di Milano was established as a Trade Fair in 1920. The main
ideal behind setting up this trade fair was to help expanded the
Italian economy post World War I. Unfortunately much of what was
there in 1920 was demolished during World War II, in particular
a number of buildings which were the basis for the first Fiera di
Milano.
Today the Fiera di Milano is a major ecomoical annual fair and the
building which is home to the fair is one of the finest examples
of a exhibition center in Europe. The size and scope of this building
is such that it can easily accommodate 30,000 exhibits and attract
3,000,000 visitors each year.
Apart from the Fiera di Milano the exhibition center is also home
to other events during the year. During the last number of years
the Fiera di Milano has been home to around 70 events each year.
Among these occasions are events that appeal to not just the inhabitants
of Milan but to wider international communities.
The Fiera di Milano is undergoing massive upgrades in the form
of improved facilities for both visitors and exhibitors, modern
security systems, high Tec capabilities and all round better exhibition
facilities. So vast will be the floor space of the upgraded Fiera
di Milano that you will be able to fit over 55 Meazza (San Siro)
Stadiums along side of each other.
